The Helotes Chamber Foundation is once again, shamelessly proud to host the 2nd Annual Helotes 0.5K Challenge. A fun, funny and foolish celebration of the average Joe! You thought we were lazy last year? This year we are taking lazy to a whole new level! You don’t even have to leave home!!
Do you find 5Ks intimidating, marathons unthinkable, and Spartan Races unimaginable? So do we!! This is a race for the rest of us! Join us for a very fun and very short 0.5K. (Hint: 0.5K = 0.3 miles. 1,640.42 feet, or 19,685 inches) You can run, walk, or crawl the short distance in a safe and socially distant manner.
Join us for the 2020 Helotes 0.5K Challenge on October 24th at a location near you! Join us from your neighborhood sidewalk, local park, favorite hiking trail, your own back yard, or just stay your husk on the couch!
Every registered participant is a WINNER and will be awarded:
- An awesome custom race medal that doubles as a bottle opener.
- A cool T-shirt.
- A pretentious 0.5K oval bumper sticker.
- A fabulous swag bag courtesy of our wonderful sponsors.
- And the satisfaction of supporting our local non-profits and so many animals during this challenging time.

Although this year’s race will be a little different, we invite you to participate in fun virtual challenges along the way. You can give us your best silly walk, cookie face race, hurdle over some toilet paper, or dress up in your best costume! We will have plenty of suggestions or you can get creative and invent your own challenge. Just post your videos on our Facebook page @Helotes0.5KChallenge or hashtag #helotespoint5k on your own social media accounts and we will award our favorites in each challenge category! Please keep it safe and socially distant!
Our event will attract underachievers, slackers, couch potatoes, and the exercise-challenged from all over Helotes, San Antonio, the Hill Country, and beyond! Heck last year we had someone participate as far as Florida. We highly suggest all participants of legal age celebrate their victory with their favorite Busted Sandal beer as they finish. For all minors, we recommend HEB’s original soda as a replacement. Don’t forget to pack donuts for carb-loading at the halfway point!
And if all this isn’t enough, join us for an incredible live streamed after-party featuring the local E7 Band you can view from the comfort of your own home on Facebook Live!

The Helotes Humane Society a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to placing unwanted animals in Helotes, Texas and the surrounding San Antonio community into loving homes since 2008. The Humane Society has been hit hard during this time and has taken in over 427 animals in just 4 months with very limited donations to provide for these animals.
