Northside Independent School District Board Approves Temporary Mask Mandate

*This article was updated following an email sent my NISD that includes “school buses” in the temporary mask mandate.

HELOTES, TX – The Northside Independent School District board of trustees unanimously approved a temporary mask/face coverings mandate for all students, staff and visitors at an August 17th, 2021 meeting.

The mandate will go into effect on August 23rd, 2021.

The following is from an email NISD sent on August 18th, 2021 at 10:59 am CST.

“In the interest of student and staff health and safety, the Northside ISD Board of Trustees voted to implement a temporary facemask mandate for all students, staff, and visitors while indoors at district facilities and on school buses. This mandate goes into effect Monday, Aug. 23.

Trustees authorized the district’s superintendent to adjust this temporary mask mandate as appropriate given local health metrics and circumstances. The health and well-being of students and staff remains our priority.”
