On December 1 at 6 p.m. the City of Helotes will host its annual Lighting of the Lights event at City Hall. The celebration of lights will feature performances by local elementary school choirs and the Helotes Area Community Band.
Join Santa at the First Responders Breakfast on Saturday, December 9 from 9 to 11 a.m. Held at the Helotes Fire Department, children and their parents will enjoy a complimentary breakfast with Santa, his helpers and the local heroes of the Helotes Fire Department.

The Helotes Humane Society will sponsor its 15th Annual Jingle Paws Classic on Saturday, December 9 from 8 to 11 a.m. at OP Schnabel Park. Decked in holiday wear, participants with their well-mannered, leashed and vaccinated dogs will celebrate the season during this 5K run/walk to support the work of the Helotes Humane Society. On December 9 at 7:30 p.m. Helotians will gather in Old Town Helotes for an evening Christmas parade. Local organizations will participate with floats incorporating the Candyland Christmas theme of this year’s parade. Those interested in entering a float for the event must apply by December 1. On Saturday, December 16 from 8 to 11 a.m. the Helotes Ag Booster Club will host Breakfast with Santa. Each $10 ticket includes a breakfast plate, a photo with Santa, a holiday craft and a fire truck visit. The annual event is held at the Helotes Ag Activity Building on 12132 Leslie Road in Helotes.
