The General Meeting of the Historical Society of Helotes will be held Tuesday, November 5, at the Gardens at Old Town Helotes at 15060 Antonio Drive from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. Charles B. James and Cynthia Leal Massey will give a presentation titled, “An Artist and Writer Discuss the Process of Collaboration: The Art of Helotes, A whimsical history tour of Old Town through paintings, architecture, and stories.”
Artist Charles B. James will provide information about his art journey, including why urban sketching appeals to him, and the process he and Cynthia used to select the historic and/or unique buildings in Old Town to paint. Cynthia will provide background information on the historic buildings chosen and her contribution to the full-color, 48-page hardback. The book, which retails at $30, plus tax, will be available for sale.
A deluxe box lunch from Jason’s Deli can be ordered online at the Historical Society of Helotes website under the Meetings tab. Member cost is $15, guests $18. Order from five menu items. Reservation/meal order must be made by November 3.
